The Crown, Amersham

The hotel could be a real gem with a pretty town location, but the rooms were sparse and the staff apart from reception seemed disinterested. Dining options were lacking, and the restaurant experience was overpriced. On the upside, the hotel is in a great location and has friendly service.

Staying at the Inn was a mixed experience. The room nearest to the car park entrance was perfect for our two dogs, giving them easy outside access and being on the ground floor for our elderly pup. The rooms situated around the original courtyard were charming, but the requested quiet room was not as peaceful as expected.

The hotel rooms lacked essential storage like wardrobes or chests of drawers, making the stay less convenient. The rooms were gloomy and noisy, which could be unsettling, especially during winter. However, the location was ideal with easy access to the railway station and short drive to Heathrow, and the amenities provided were excellent.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel, with spacious and lovely rooms, though I had to request a fan due to the stairs and landings. The service was hit-and-miss, with some lovely staff but also some delays and mix-ups. The location was good overall, especially for a quiet weekend outside central London. The dining experience was enjoyable despite some delays in service.
